Six Nations with Guinness
Welcome Rugby fans! We’re here to talk all things Rugby and Guinness, so if that sounds like a bit of you, then keep on reading.
The Six Nations officially starts on Saturday the 6th of February. Something exciting for us to throw ourselves into and distract from the weird times we’re currently experiencing. Their proud title partners, Guinness, have been named the Official Beer of Rugby’s Greatest Championship. They want to give you a mega match day experience whilst sipping on a pint of the good stuff.
We’re here to give you some tips on how you can enjoy your Guinness and the Rugby, all whilst staying in the comfort of your own home. (no change there)
Pre match feed
Rugby is hungry work, so you need to make sure you get a hearty meal in before it starts. You’ve got some Guinness in, of course you do, what else do you drink when watching the Rugby?! There are some great food pairings that work like a dream with the rich & velvety drink.
Half-time heroes
It’s half-time and the adrenaline is pumping. You’re used to watching this in a packed pub, surrounded by fans and with a pint of Guinness in hand. We suggest trying to replicate this at home! We know you might be sick of video calls by now but call your mates and have a half-time debrief. Good or bad, you should at least try. (apologies, Rugby puns are far and few between)
We also recommend some half-time snacks. We thought you might be a bit peck-ish after all that excitement. Why not make some tasty loaded nachos or these dirty fries before the second half starts.
Post-match drinks
Good or bad result, a post-match drink is needed. We’ve got some top tips on how to pour the perfect Guinness at home.
Firstly, make sure your Guinness is thoroughly chilled. Then grab your glass of choice, tilt at 45 degrees and fill ¾ full. This is when you need to let the surge settle down before pouring in the rest of the can. You should then be left with a delicious pint of Guinness, complete with its creamy white head. Cheers!
